ADULT MISSION TRIP MAY 2 - 14, 2010 Camp Albright, Reed City, MI An adult mission trip is being planned for Sunday May 2nd through Friday May 14th at Camp Albright in Reed City, MI. This is a Methodist Church summer camp and the objective of this work mission trip is to prepare the camp for it upcoming summer season of use. Adult women and men are equally invited to attend this mission trip. The type of work involved is being described to me as: lots of carpentry work and painting, some electrical work, some sewing and planting work, some kitchen help, some Kubota work, and other odds and ends. The living accommodations are dorm style for the most part (genders separated), outside heated baths with showers, also twenty some sites for RVs with electrical, water, and dump station. The expenses for the mission trip are: $25.00 per person, per week for food. $50.00 per person for materials. This comes to $100.00 per person for the two weeks, or $75.00 per person for one week. If you would like to only attend for a few days this can also happen and the costs will be worked out on an individual basis. If you would like to attend this mission but feel you are unable to because of lack of financial ability please see me. Financial assistance may be available to proven need cases. This mission trip is being made possible in a partnership with a Christian group called the "29ers" who are basically Methodist in denomination. Please understand that his is not a LCMS sponsored mission trip. Zion Lutheran Church has entered into the world of fashion and is introducing a limited line of Zion clothing. Members of Zion can now order and proudly wear clothing that is embroidered with the registered trademark cross of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and Zion Lutheran Church Petoskey, MI.
You may also personalize your clothing by having your name embroidered on it for an additional cost.
At this time the clothing line is limited to
polo shirts,
T-shirts,
and baseball caps.
A wide selection of colors are available for the clothing with the following exceptions:
- The color red is being respectfully reserved for use by those members that have, or will have, actively participated in a church mission.
- The baseball caps come in only one color (khaki) and embroidered in black only.
Other types of clothing (coats, jackets, sweaters, shirts, etc.) are a possibility for purchase. Please see me to discuss these options.
The purpose behind this clothing sale is to help finance Zion's own "in house" or "our choice" mission work. A 25% profit on each item is attempting to be realized, and every cent of that profit will go directly into our missions fund.
Samples of the clothing are on display in front of the missions bulletin board which is at the rear of the church sanctuary. Order forms for the clothing are on the bulletin board, as is an envelope to deposit the completed order forms into. Or you may contact me directly to order your Zion clothing. Payment will be expected upon delivery of the ordered item.
